The DIV and SPAN Tags

The < span > and < div > tags were introduce in the
HTML that are very useful when dealing with Cascading
Style Sheets or CSS. We tend to use them in similar fashion,
but they serve different purposes.
The < div > tag defines logical divisions in our Web page.
In terms of layout, the < div > tag does only one thing; it determines
the alignment of that section of your page. The < div > also gives you
the chance to define the style of whole sections of HTML. You could
define a section of your page as a call out and give that section a different
style from the surrounding text. The < div > tag gives you the ability to name
certain sections of your documents so that you can affect them with style
sheets or Dynamic HTML. One thing to keep in mind when using the < div >
tag is that it breaks paragraphs. It acts as a paragraph end/beginning, and
while you can have paragraphs within a < div > you can't have a < div >
inside a paragraph.
The < span > tag has very similar properties to the < div > tag, in that
it affects the style of the text it encloses. Items in the < span > can be
aligned or given specific style attributes. The primary difference
between the and
tags is that < span > doesn't do any
formatting of its own. The < div > tag acts as a paragraph break, because
it is defining a logical division in the document. The < span > tag simply
tells the browser to apply the style and align rules to whatever is
within the < span >.

K-12: Additional Quality Education or Additional Suffering

Is the K-12 model good for the Philippine Education system?
This program will require all incoming students to enroll into two
more years of basic education. Thus, the K+12 System will basically
include the Universal kindergarten, 6 years of elementary, 4 years of
junior high school with an additional 2 years for senior high school.
Kindergarten and 12 years of quality basic education is a right of
every Filipino, therefore they must be and will be provided by government
and will be free. Those who go through the 12 years cycle will get an
elementary diploma (6 years), a junior high school diploma (4 years), and
a senior high school diploma (2 years). A full 12 years of basic education
will eventually be required for entry into tertiary level education (entering
freshmen by SY 2018-2019 or seven years from now).
DepEd says that a K-12 program will improve the chances for youth
employment as it is aimed to improve technical-vocational skills through
focusing on arts, aquaculture and agriculture, among others. The K-12, it
further states, will ensure that students graduating at the age of 18 will
have jobs, thus making them “employable” even without a college degree.
In the other hand, K-12 is not good for the poor Filipinos out there because
they have no enough money to support their children in schooling like the
Filipinos live in squatter’s area. So, K-12 is good for the Filipinos that have
enough money to support their children but wasn’t good for the other Filipinos
that are poor.

The HTML and Its Elements

What is HTML? A web page is created using a language

called, Hypertext Markup Language, better known as HTML Code.

We can write our own coding within a plain text editor, such as

Note Pad, or use an HTML editor, which will write the code for you.

The HTML or Hypertext Markup Language has a elements or the HTML tags.

HTML tags (otherwise known as "HTML elements", and their

respective attributes are used to create HTML documents. Tags are

composed of the name of the element, surrounded by angle brackets.

HTML tags normally come in pairs like "< body >" and "< / body >". They

are the opening and closing tags. These elements are written with a

start tag and an end tag, with the content in between. As you can see,

an end tag has a slash after the opening angle brackets to define that

it is the closing tag. But some elements, the so-called void elements

don't have an end tag. A typical example is the br element, which

represents a significant line break, such as in a poem or an address.

HTML, known as the HyperText Markup Language which is the

predominant markup language for web pages and it is the

building-blocks of web pages. HTML is written in the form of

HTML elements consisting of tags that enclosed in angle brackets

like "< html >", within the web page content.

The Real Me

Hi there! I am Chelsy Viray Gamban but you can call me
Chels, Che, or Che-Che. I’m fourteen years old going
fifteen on October 09. I live in Balsik Riverside Hermosa,
Bataan. I am an only child of Mr. Reynaldo Macalino Gamban
and Mrs. Rita Viray Gamban. I’m third year high school,
studying here in Saint John Academy Dinalupihan, Bataan
and I belong to the section of Saint Mary Magdalene.
I’m also a volleyball player of this school.

I love listening music, surfing the internet, texting with
my friends and playing volleyball. My favorite songs are
Hero by Enrique Iglesias, Wherever You Will Go by The Calling,
When You’re Gone by Avril Lavigne, When I’m With You
by Faber Drive and Kundiman by Silent Sanctuary. My favorite
singer is Kitchie Nadal and Avril Lavigne because their songs
are very inspiring.

I’m a kind person for those who are kind to me such as my
friends and best friends. I’m stupid for those who are
stupid. I’m contented from who I am and what I am and
from what I achieve. I’m only a simple girl that wants to
finish studying and become a successful flight attendant
in an airline so that I can help my parents to have a
convenient life.
Now you know about me.Thanks for reading my blog.
I hope that you enjoy reading it and please read my next blog.
